Lyrics
When I was young you were my hero
And as I grew then you became my friend
All the good times were amazing and the bad times weren’t so bad
I’m so proud that you’re my dad.
If I was scared you’d be there to reassure me
When I was weak, I’d hear you speak and I’d be strong
So now when I remember all the great fun that we had
I’m so proud that you’re my dad.
So let me take this chance
To say these words I’ve saved ‘till now
To let you know you’ve always been my hero
You watched me grow as I watched you grow older
And your wisdom through the years passed down to me
You made me who I am and you taught me good from bad
And I’m proud that you’re my dad
So let me take this chance
To say these words I’ve saved ‘till now
To let you know you’ve always been my hero
I had to take the time
You need to know the way I feel
Because to me you’ll always be my hero
You’ve always been, you’ll always be my hero.
